Here in Dallas Texas I found that the only places to get Citric Acid is at independant compounding pharmacies. Two of them have a 4 oz jar for $16.95! The third one I called had 16 oz. (1 lb) for $27.00. That by far is the best price. The company is HUMCO from Texarkana, TX , 800 662-3435, www.humco.com. Unfortuntely my recipe calls for 1 Cup, about 8 oz and I totally messed up my first batch by misreading the amount of water to add to the jojoba oil and essential oil mixture. They grew immediately and foamed up and out of the jelly roll pan and all over the counter. It was like the BLOB! My next try was a little better but they did continue to expand so I kept compressing them and now they are finally dry and dense but look like ugly fruit.

I did end up ordering the citric acid from Brambleberry and as always received the order within a couple of days- thank you! (I live in WA) I made the bath bombs over the weekend using the recipe on Soap Queen; very happy with how they turned out. They are drying even as we "speak". A fun addition to little gift baskets of homemade soaps to friends. It is a very easy recipe. The only thing that surprised me was that I found I had to add more witch hazel than I assumed I would from the directions, but that was certainly no big deal.
