Hi everyone..thanks for stopping by!
I have been lurking around this site for a few months now and have finally decided to ask for help.
I am in need of labels. I ordered several sample from Online Labels, but none of them fit quite right..and they smudged! I also tried some Avery ones...which fit okay, but they didn't stick well, and they smudged too! I tried covering them with packing tape not only to get them to stick...but also so they wouldn't smudge. They looked awful..tons of bubbles. Plus this is not a very professional look lol. I've been making lotion and scrubs...so it's important that they are waterproof. I really like the look of a clear label...but it does not have to be. I have an inkjet printer at home, and I would really prefer to print them myself, at least for now. I also am looking for something fairly inexpensive...this is not a cheap hobby!

Not sure if this matters...but I have ordered all my containers through SKS Bottle & Packaging...different sized jars, some plastic bottles for bath salts, and some chapstick tubes.
Does anyone have any advice? I could really use some

I get all my labels from online labels. I do put the clear ones on my lotion and love them. I think the problem you have is your ink is not waterproof. I have seen others with this problem as well. I started with an inkjet as you have and now I have 3 printers hooked up to my computer and use all of them. I call it my lean mean label making machine. As for getting the right size labels I mostly use full sheet labels and a good print program and make mine any size I want and cut them out with a paper cutter.

Depending on your ink and your printer, yes they will smear. Did you try the waterproof labels?

See if you can get some samples from the company. That would give you a better idea.

The print program I use is Printmaster Platinum. I got it at a Walmart for $30. It took a little while to get the hang of it but now I love it. Easy to import your own pictures, several fonts to choose from, a zoom feature for that small text and more. The label designer at online labels is a good one but I think it only works for 30 days from your last purchase.

As for the ink I am not sure where to get it. I now use laser printers for all my labels so I have not had a need for it. I will look for it. The waterproof labels will help alot but still may smear a little. A sample is a great idea.

That program sounds like a good idea...gonna look into it this weekend, and order several samples from Online labels.
