I am excited. I am working on a new shampoo recipe. I have a couple of good ones allready but to me this is where the real fun is at. Developing new stuff. As I learn more it seems there is more I want to try. Always trying to improve. I hope my wife is up to trying some new shampoos again. What is anyone else working on that is new for you?

Bruce

I'm working on a new formula without beeswax. I made a batch this morning and it's now resting. We'll see how this one comes out.

I'm testing a liquid shampoo with Lanolin and I think it's going to be a favourite. My hair is coloured (very grey and not prepared to look old yet!) so any moisturizer is a bonus. I'm a newbie with liquids so I would be fascinated to read about what the old hands are conjuring up!

what happens to all your test batches that dont get used up in testing i.e. the ones you don't care for? i love experimenting too, but i hate waste.

i havent delved into the realm of cp or anything like that, but i do make other stuff that requires experimenting. any ideas for lowering waste would be really kewl.

i have been doing a great thing with my "waste" see, i dont scent my shampoos till i seperate them into warm batches to spread them out.. so therefor there is not scent to them usually.. i will take the ones im not 2 happy with, mix them together and then just mix it down into bath gels or body scrubs.. and add scents with still hot.. usually works wonders every time!! as for my new project, i made lotion from scratch, and mixed it one of these ooops batches and mae this awesome lotion bubble scrub... we will see how this works! i have been doing shampoos for awhile, and am pretty good at them, so if you have any other questions feel free to ask :D i will try to answer!!

"Bruce,
Is your shampoo a liquid soap recipe? I am planning on finishing up my new one this weekend (liquid soap shampoo).
Petra"

Petra,
Yes my shampoo's are liquid. I have also made a point of keeping them clear and bottling them in clear bottles. I think they look nice that way.
Bruce

Love your Etsy shop Bruce. You should sell your beer shampoo in a beer bottle!!! One of these days, I'm going to order some from you:-)

Thanks for the kind words Rena. I looked hard and long for a plastic beer bottle to sell it in. All I could find was ones that hold over 16 oz. and I did not want that big of a bottle. The bottle I am using is the closest I could find. I sell a fair amount of that shampoo at shows and have had some fun feedback from it.

Have a great day!

Bruce

Hi Danielle,

I was looking at all those bottles and it is scary how many of them that I have at least a few of. I do alot of homebrewing and have a very good supply store near me that stocks lots of stuff, even bottles. The plastic ones on your link are the closest I could find for my shampoo. I am thinking of getting some and to put a pump top on it and call it a "salon size". I have allready fitted a pump top to one so I know what to order if I do it.

Thanks,

Bruce
