I am fairly new to making lotions with a more complex list of ingredients. I apologize if this seems to be a silly question, but here goes. I have a couple different recipes I've tried to make that include thicker ingredients, Vitamin E oil and Liquid Glycerin. They are both in plastic bottles. The recipes call for small amounts like 1/8 teaspoon of Vitamin E Oil. With this ingredient being so thick, it is hard to measure out exactly 1/8 of a teaspoon. Can either of these products be heated at all to thin it a bit to get a more accurate amount without ruining the product? My thought was to pour a larger amount in a bowl, heat it up in the microwave, take what I need then pour the rest back in the original container without a ton being left on the spoon. I'm just trying not to waste a bunch of product.
Thanks!
