Hello,
Can you tell me what the maximum amount of essential oil I can safely add to 16 oz of body butter? Please tell me in ounces, grams, tablespoons, etc. Not drops.
Also, because I use raw, unrefined shea and cocoa butters, I need the scent to be pretty strong to be able to overshadow the oils. Because essential oils tend to dissipate kind of fast, can you offer any suggestions as to how to make the smell stronger and last longer? I want to use essential oils because I want the healing properties, would adding fragrance oils prolong and intensify the scent? But would it also have an effect on how the essential oils work?

There are no negatives, only slow positives.

There is no hard and fast rule. Some can only be used in very small amounts like cinnamon or clove. Some are sun sensitizers like orange oil. I know that BrambleBerry has a fragrance calculator and I believe that they have it for lotion. I would follow the same weights. Just don't use teaspoons or tablespoons as they are not accurate.
