Hello all. I am fairly new to soaping and would love to know if anyone has any recipes for a lotion or body butter with arnica in it to help with bruising? I have found some balm recipes with an oil infusion method that I made, however they were super greasy. They also did not have exact measurements for the arnica and I know from research you have to be careful with the amount of arnica used. Any suggestions or help would be amazing. Thank you!

It's hard to get an exact amount. I fill a 8 oz. jar full of dried, packed arnica, pour olive oil til it reaches the top, then either let it sit for 4-6 weeks to infuse, or put all of it into a small crock pot and cook on low for a couple of hours. You have to make sure that the arnica doesn't get crispy. You don't want to burn it! Then I strain it into a bottle to use as I need.
I then use 2% of this infused olive oil in my recipe. Lotion bars or body butters are naturally greasy. You can try adding some corn starch or arrowroot powder. That should help cut down on the greasiness.
