Teach Soap

I have recently started making lotions and played around with a few recipes so far, neither of which I was really happy with. I have come up with this one and wonder if anyone can give me their input on it:) The recipe is mostly for my daughter and myself, both of us have sensitive acne prone skin(I plan on using it on entire body and face)

germall plus 0.08oz
shea butter 0.28oz
almond oil 0.60oz
emulsimuse 0.16oz

If you have sensitive acne prone skin, I would leave out the shea butter or sub it for something else like jojoba. I am not familiar with emulsimuse. How did you come up with germall plus at 0.08oz? I'm not getting the same number.

Good thing I posted, I thought it was 1% but now looking back at the info for it, it does say .1-.5. How do you measure out a small amount like that? Ounces won't work, is that when mls start being used? I just bought the preservative, had optiphen plus before which is used in a higher amount...and that was tricky to measure. I had bought Optiphen only for its non-paraben claim however the tiny amount used in Geramll hardly makes sense to be concerned about:)

Anyone have any feedback on Germall Plus or Phenonip???

I use Phenonip in my recipes and have not had any problems. I agree that with such a small amount of preservative, no need to worry about the parabens.

Use grams for your recipe rather than ounces. More more accurate!

I use phenonip myself, I've not had any issues with it. I've had a few folks with issues when I used liquid germall plus; my Mom said it felt like she had fire ants biting her arms after using a lotion with the min % of LGP. I get hives from it, and so have a few folks who tested the lotion for me. The exact same lotion with phenonip yielded only positive feedback!

I don't make lotions, but I've read that shea can be comedogenic for some. You could sub mango butter, which has more tannins, and a "dryer" feel.
