Teach Soap

I was wondering if any of you could help SueW and I with ideas to take care of the hair of two of our girls. They are bi-racial, and have been with us since March. Over time their hair has become dry, brittle, and mats easily. We have tried most of the products on the shelves at our local stores, but have not found anything promising. I figured that I may fabricate something if I knew what to use. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been told a conditioner that is pretty much just whipped shea butter can really help, but I've not tried it myself! There are LOTS of recipes and tutorials on it on youtube though!

I can do shea butter. One of the issues we have is that one of the girls has asthma that is triggered by strong smells, so most of the commercial products we've tried are going to be off limits. Of the products that have been recommended to us by others, many contain argan oil, so I may order some of that to try to come up with something suitable. I will try the shea butter idea tonight though - thanks!
