Teach Soap

I made a batch of pink sweet pea baby sprinkle series flower bath bombs and after much physical labor they turned out great! But I was wondering if the labor was worth it.

I have family that make body butters/scrubs that less physical labor and are just fabulous on the skin!

I'm planning on having an online shopping in the coming years and I want to know from preference/experience from others: Which is better for you? If you sell, which is more popular?

See if you can find something similar in a store near you or go to a couple of craft fairs nearby. Then check it out. In some places, they sell better then others. I don't make bath bombs any more. It's just too hard on my hands.
I don't sell body butters as they melt in the desert heat, but I do make body scrubs.

I recently made a salt scrub for a girl friend. She loved it! I had never used them before and now I'm hooked also! She wanted jojoba oil and wow is it nice in the scrub!

So I've decided to do some up for a show in November.

Why are scrubs so expensive to purchase?

Labeling question if you use a 4 oz jar do you put 4 oz on the jar label. It seems the product in a 4 oz jar doesn't weigh 4 ounces but in my case 5.5 oz. So do you label the jar's capacity or the weight of the product. I'm sure there is a regulation abut I haven't been able to locate it.

Mella, you go by the actual weight of the product. You don't account for the weight of the jar.

Thank you Irena. I've been looking at jars that I know are 4 oz jars or 2 oz jars and I know they hold salt or sugar scrub which weighs more than the jar but are labeled 4 oz or 2 oz. Thanks for your response. I get confused what is labeled in volume and what is done in weight like say soaps!

My 4oz size jars of sugar scrub actually contain 5oz of product by weight. I fill each jar while it's stilling on my scale.

I get 5 oz of cream in a 4 oz jar too hehe, silly jars!

Here in southern NJ body scrubs seem to be WAY more popular than bath bombs. Bath bombs are apparently "last season" with the Italian population! And apparently sugar scrubs help keep the colour in your spray tan (not sass! Most of the folks I know here actually have spray tans!)

LOL must be. I would think the scrubbiness of it would rub more tan off than anything, but apparently it doesn't.

Sugar scrubs exfoliate the skin, which makes spray tans look better and last longer. If I didn't live in sunny California and was as white as I used to be, I would probably use a spray tan.
