Hi!
i did a search and read that there were a few people that did not have good luck with waterproof labels.
I wondered if others had the same trouble. Waterproof labels look quite pricey and i wanted to know which ones work before i ordered any.

has anyone had success? any vendor recommendations?

I think all the waterproof labels probably come from the same bulk suppliers.
I've been getting mine from Elements and haven't had a problem once I figured out the best way to print them. I also give mine a light spraying of Krylon Clear and they hold up really well.

That seems to be the consensus. )

The proper way to do it is to use self-adhesive clear polyester or vinyl. Requires a laser printer. Inkjets are a complete waste of time and money, they cannot print on to plastic. If you can't afford a colour laser then get a printer to make the labels; the cost is not much more than printing them yourself for 100 off.

I've had good luck with the labels available from Elements, or Online Labels, if you can purchase large amounts.

I do have an inkjet printer. What works for me is printing the labels, letting them dry overnight, and then spraying them with clear Krylon.

I've used those labels for bottles of shampoo, with the bottles in the shower with me, and the labels don't fade, run, or smear.

Now I wonder where my Krylon is hiding. I may have to dig though some bins of craft stuff.

Good grief, there are not enough hours in the day for all that malarkey! Print->guillotine->stick! Or, Send email with image to printer->take delivery->stick!

I wonder, Would a plain glossy label( much cheaper) with a spray coating

You can try it, but most inkjet printers won't print on glossy labels without them smearing. If you have a laser printer it might be ok. The waterproof labels are vinyl, not paper - paper tends to shred when wet.

I print my labels at home on my inkjet and use two coats of UV Kylon and I am go to go. I have and some in the dishwasher by accident and them came out perfect.

Where do you get a label printer?
