Teach Soap

I made this facial oil for a friend of mine and she is saying it seems to be drying out her skin around her mouth and chin.

I used
Almond Oil
Apricot Kernel Oil
Avocado Oil
Vit. E
few drops of Lavender Essential Oil.

has anyone ever had a probleam with these oils?

I would have her try each oil separately. What age group is she in? Does she have dry, oily or combo skin? Any acne problems? What climate does she live in?

I like soapbuddy's suggestion. Perhaps she's allergic to one of the oils.

She is 58 and has dry skin and lives in Colorado. And no skin issues with breakouts. I never thought about having her try each oil seperatly.

Last fall I was talking with a fellow farmer's market vendor. He asked me about my solid lotion bars and then explained that his face was always really dry feeling even though he used oils or shea butter on his face. I suggested he try using a lotion or a product with a humectant in it and it's made a huge difference for him. If you find your friend isn't allergic to any of the oils, maybe she needs something to draw moisture to her skin as well.

Absolutely, Linda has it right. Skin creams work by *adding moisture* and simultaneously creating a film that prevents water loss. Just using emollients won't do the job in many cases.
