Teach Soap

I have been testing quite a few FOs with shampoo samples, since I have no prior experience of what's good and what's not.
Just a few notes so far (all fragrances by IFF, International Fragrances and Flavours except where noted.)

1. Chocolate. I didn't think this worked very well. I would not have identified the aroma as chocolate. I used 1% but IMO it needs at least 2% to work.

2. Mint. This didn't seem terribly wow in the sample bottle, but at 1% in a shampoo it was absolutely lovely. Fresh, minty, enjoyable... 0.5% probably enough. Have to try combining this one.

3. Poire. Kind of like apple/pear. Likable. Fresh.

4. Ginger Lime. (Brambleberry) Not bad. Not a big fan, but quite likable. Certainly a candidate.

5. Litsea Cubeba (Brambleberry) Wasn't keen, too 'medicinal'.

6. Vanilla / Coconut (local aroma distributor but probably from IFF originally) I mixed the two 50-50, bodywash product: lovely, but a bit toffee-like.

I can see all except the chocolate. Anything chocolate just doesn't sell for me. I blend Litsea so it's a little sweeter.

Poire is french for pear hehe, so I'd expect that one to be quite pear-y.

For shampoo I like:

mint/eucalyptus/citrus blend (grapefruit is very nice)

folded orange with a touch of patchouli

green tea

lavender on its own or blended with mint

If you blended the litsea with something else, maybe lavender? it would be quite nice, I think.

I like the mint/eucaplyptus type blends, especially with a bit of rosemary. Coconut blends are great too but not a fan of chocolate. Can fo's be used? I'd love a Fresh Bamboo shampoo.

Not to hijack this thread but - green tea fo! I'm on a quest to find one but didn't care for either BB's Green Tea or Matcha Green Tea fo's. What do you like?

I like Energy and Linden Blossom in Shampoo and some of the other green scents too like Fresh Bamboo and Bonsai

I like rosemary and mint, orange and mint, or lavender-ylang ylang.

I give a second to Rosemary Mint! Use Essential oils to get a "true" scent, plus you'll get the peppermint tingle that way.
