Teach Soap

Putting this out there in case anybody can help. Striving to be The Good Girlfriend, I asked The Boyfriend what kind of soap scent he would like. He said: "Remember that incense called African Love that I bought at a college arts/craft fair? Make that."

Once I got over my aggravation (THANKS hon - I was expecting something like 'coffee' or 'vanilla' - I thought guys were really turned on by vanilla ) I racked my olfactory memory, and surveyed the big Indian import stores in Seattle's University District with walls 'o incense. Found many people that have heard of it - consensus is that it is one of those "old school" 1960's scents. Google has yielded nothing - massive on-line incense stores don't have it (although I gave up after 3-4 'superstore' incense places).

The best we can come up with a blend of cherry, almond and coconut. Boy its tough to deconstruct a scent from memory!

Anyone heard of it, know it, seen this anywhere?

You are cracking me up!

I think I wore a tie twice when I went clubbing - that was enough. ARGH! I don't know how men who wear ties daily can stand it - I could not shake the worry that somebody would grab the tie and string me up by it.

Blech.

Just placed an order for the African Love body oil...really curious to smell it and see it its as I remember it.

Since you ordered already, I would suggest that you send them a quick email and ask if it's soap safe. Not all of them are. Some incense companies use DPG to dilute their fragrances. This would make your soap seize.
