Let me start out by saying that I love BB fragrance oils. However, they're a little bit costly for the level of manufacturing that I'm at. I know of many FO suppliers out there but have only actually tried a couple of them (Wholesale Supplies Plus and Nature's Garden), both with decent success.

I'd just like to hear, besides BB, who is your *favorite* FO supplier? I'm looking for more options that balance out cost and quality. Usually when you hear of a supplier, it's in the context of a single FO... I'd like to get a better overall idea of the vendors out there. Thank you, soapers!

Well, BB is my top supplier for many reasons, but second is Peaks Candles they have great products and service too. Any less expensive companies have either poor customer service or you really have no idea what is in the products you buy and who would want that for themselves or their customers, right.

I have several favorite Brambleberry favorites, but they won't ship them to Canada... But there is a Brambleberry reseller in BC - soapcraft.ca - they sell a dozen or so of the top BB FOs, so us Canadians aren't totally out in the cold.

NG scents are a big hit with my friends (aka testers). I have a couple from BCN that I love (Leather and Vanilla Bean Supreme - haven't soaped the vanilla yet though but the Leather is a huge hit). I like Elements Bath & Body because they fill orders and ship FAST. I've ordered on a Tuesday night, order shipped by Wednesday afternoon, and since I live so close, I got my order Thursday. I have a Sandalwood Vanilla that I may try with the beer I have sitting out for a batch of soap. If it ends up smelling awful, I'll donate it

I did buy some WSP FOs but I just looked at their prices and they have gone way up from what they were even 6 weeks ago, at least for the ones I looked at. I like BB well enough but I can't justify the shipping cost and time (I live a good 2000 miles away) just for an FO or two so I usually only pick up some up when I need to place a big order with them. I've placed my first OT order but I know several soapers who have nothing but good things to say about them. My only issue is that OT's lip flavors are a minimum 2 oz for $6, no 1oz or sample size.

BB is #1 for me, but I also order from WSP (I noticed their price increases as well!) and Elements (for the same reasons as Vanessa). I haven't ordered from NG or Peak, but will probably try them in the near future.

Brambleberry sponsors this forum for everyone to share information and if someone feels their fragrance prices are pricey that's fine, but don't post it. I'm pretty sure that WSP wouldn't want other companies listed on their forum that were less expensive. Do research and read other forums to help find information.

I think it depends on your perspective.

I live in New Zealand & it's still cheaper for me to get BB FO's (the ones that will ship) & pay the shipping (basically doubles the price) than to get anything from here. Plus, I know I'm getting top quality & most of the 'local' FO's haven't worked in CP anyway! Win Win!!!

In saying that, to make shipping a little friendlier, I get the max amount per order that I can get through customs :D

Most here will support and have great stories about BB... they are my go to supplier. But every now and then I will get something from elsewhere, mostly because BB does not carry it or I am ordering something else. I did that with wholesales supplies plus and was disappointed (now BB carries the mold I got from them). I did have some favorites from southern soapers (before BB) but they have gone out of buisness.

On Friday, I placed an order with BB and an order with WSP. I received an email from BB today letting me know my order shipped. This morning I had a phone call from a CSR at WSP and she let me know that my order would be shipping tomorrow because one of the FOs I ordered was out of stock until then. I think that's great customer service from both companies. :D

This is a great discussion. I love that everyone is sharing their experiences and not attacking anyone or any vendors. I think this topic is a great resource for people looking to make purchases online. And even though Bramble Berry is the sponsor of this forum we have no issues with anyone recommending other vendors here. We really want this forum to be a resource for soapmakers.

We love hearing your honest opinions and always consider them when adding new products.

I do just want to clarify about shipping to Canada and internationally in general. We do ship to Canada but because of shipping restrictions on low flashpoint oils there are many fragrances we can not ship.

Happy Soaping!
Amber

I like BB, Aroma Haven, The Scent Works, Oregon Trail, Southern Soapers and Peak Candle.

I am willing to pay more if the quality justifies it. I also appreciate companies that test their fragrances in CP and provide information about how they do. Brambleberry does this. Think of how much money you save by buying something that is tried and true as opposed to experimenting on the unknown.

My favorite fo suppliers are:

BB
NG
SOS
BCN
Tony's

To me, they all have excellent customer service and great quality fo's for decent prices. But with me, customer service almost always trumps price.

My favorite fo & eo supplier of all time was Mint Meadow Country Oils, but they went out of business years ago :( I still have a couple eo blends from them that I use only for myself.
