Teach Soap

I know anise isn't a popular scent but I love it. I'd like to make a soap with anise & lavender. Any thoughts on the ratio of the 2? I'm thinking equal amounts of anise & lavender would smell too licorice-y for most.

BTW, I plan to swirl it with black, white and purple.

I would put a drop of each on a coffee filter and then put that in a ziplock bag for about an hour. That will give you some idea of the strength and then you can add more of one or the other until you get the scent you want.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I'm not a big fan of lavender, so personally I'd go with 2 parts anise:1 part lavender.

But the coffee filter (or q tip) idea would probably be more helpful.

Anise is very strong and can overcome a blend. I would start with 2 parts Lavender to 1 part Anise.
