Teach Soap

Hello all,
New here. I started ordering melt and pour base and FOs and molds from Brambleberry a couple months ago with the intention of making wedding favor soaps. I got carried away and have probably spent about $250 in fragrances, usually 4oz bottles of each. So I've got a ton of fragrances, and I'm worried about the shelf life.

I keep them in the amber colored glass bottles BB sends them in of course, with the electrical tape wrapped around the tops as seals.

If they have a pretty quick shelf life (e.g., up to one year), I'll have to figure out some rather creative uses for them other than soap. Or maybe I'll do a little side business selling soap. Not a lot of time for that though.

I have kept my fragrances longer then a year. I would email BrambleBerry that question and ask.

We recommend using our fragrances oils with in a year of purchase. However, they will not go bad in the sense that they will grow mold or go rancid (since they are not diluted in any other oils). After a year, the scent may start to change, losing its top notes first. If the scent does start to change years down the road it's still 100% safe to use.

Ok thanks. Looks like I will indeed have to come up with some pretty clever and immediate uses for these 20-odd bottles of FO.

I guess I'm not interested in swapping at all. Too much work with having to mail things, plus the postage--after postage it's probably just as cheap to just order a new bottle of fragrance.

I'll just make a ton of soap and get into reed diffusers. Problem solved...hopefully....

If anyone is interested in swapping, please don't forget that a lot of FOs can't be sent via regular mail because of their flashpoints. They need to be sent FedEx or UPS ground.
