Hi everyone ! I have been scenting my soaps for around $1.50 an ounce , but then both of my distributors got bought out by larger companies. Now I know I probably can't pay what I used to for FO , but also can't shell out $6.00 for 2 ounces either. Does anyone have a decently priced fragrance supplier you use? Thanks so much for your help!

Since BrambleBerry is our forum host, I prefer to buy from them. With that said, since I don't know where you live, take a look here and see how different companies compare. http://suppliersbystate.com/state-listings.php

Alright , so I've snooped around and have found suppliers near me that sell over 2,000 different fragrance oils. But, how the hay am I supposed to pick ones that won't fade in my soap? I've been super disappointed with fading fragrance oils. Anybody have any favorites they just love?

I would choose the vendor that lists how the fragrance behaves in soap and if the fragrance lasts right on their web site.

Same here. Also, some sites allow users to post reviews that can be very helpful as well. I've bought a number of FOs based on user reviews that I may not have otherwise tried and have like all of them. they're also helpful because they will let you know if there was any problem with acceleration, ricing, etc.

assuming we can "name names"?...

I recently declined to purchase FOs from Saffire Blue (in Canada) because they won't tell you anything - even vanilla content! - about their FOs. I went around and around about this with a rep from there - she was quite snooty and said their lawyers told them they can't tell because of liability issues. She also told me that any "decent formulator" would prefer to test for themselves.

I guess all of us who enjoy soap scent reviews by our peers are not "decent formulators"!!!

I don't know if you've checked them out yet or not but NDA lets customers post ratings and reviews on their site which I find super helpful. I've also heard good things about Voyageur Soap and Candle (in BC). Brambleberry is of course just fantastic. Anne-Marie insists on testing EVERYTHING they sell and their reputation is golden in this industry. (I'm blown away by their customer service.)

One thing though: they can't ship certain EOs to Canada (not sure about FOs though ... haven't ordered any yet).

If you look at Brambleberry's Facebook page you can see what customers are doing with their products as people share pics and results all the time there. Very helpful (and inspiring). It's one of the most active FB pages I've seen in soaping.

Thanks to Irena and Karri - and yes, I am already on Soap Scent Review Board, and yes, I have been an NDA customer for years... (for some stuff)

My point was: how can any supplier refuse to offer info, when other sites and companies do it so regularly? And yes, that was reason enough to not buy from them. Somehow, they didn't seem to see my point, though :?

Nice sharing.
I also use fragrance oil on my head.
I think fragrance oil is the best oil for every kind of headache.
I was made fragrance oil of 12.5$ from market.

Wooooo.......after all of the advice and soap searching and ordering and trying out new stuff.......Bramble Berry is the best. No doubt about it. It's worth the little extra money. Just incredible. Thanks everyone!
