Hi everyone,

I know how the disclororation works in soap (and sometimes I even like it!), but was wondering if anyone knows if it works the same for candles?

Will a fragrance that contains vanallin discolor my candles too? If so, will a vanilla color stabilizer help this?

I wasn't sure if I should post this in the fragrance section or the candle section, so I'm starting here since the candle section doesn't seem very active and my question is specifically about fragrances.

Thanks so much!

Vanilla stabilizer is not made for candles. I wouldn't use it for that. As far as discoloring, it depends where the fragrance came from and what type of a wax you use.

Hi soapbuddy,

I should have known the answer wouldn't be a simple one! lol

I definitely won't use the VCS in candles, thank you for letting me know.

Currently, all my fragrances are from NDA. Do you know how these behave in candles?

Thanks in advance for any information you can share. :)

I don't buy my fragrances from NDA. The only true way to know whether they work in your candle is to test. Make a small batch, let it cure for a week or so, then burn test it. There are too many variables when it comes to types of wax, types of wicks, types of colors and fragrances.
