Teach Soap

Hi!

I just made a batch of handmilled soap using chamomile EO (Expensive!) and lavender EO. However I'm not liking the combo of the two smells at all! I had found the recipe online somewhere and thought I would give it a try. I'm wondering if any of you have used the chamomile EO with a fragrance you can suggest or another EO that came out successful. Just curious...since otherwise I have no idea what to do with the rest of my chamomile EO...at least with the buds I can make tea. = (

Which chamomille chemotype did you use? Not all of them smell the same. You also said handmilled; you mean rebatch?

yes you can call it rebatch. the chamomile i used was the roman chamomile and the lavender was the Hungarian lavender that i got from BB. thanks!

How much of each did you use, in what % and how big was your batch?

it was only a 2 pound batch. the recipe said for each pound use 5 drops lavender and 2 drops chamomile. so i doubled it for the 2 pounds.

i saw the blends website but i am more curious to know if anyone has used the chamomile with a different eo or fragrance and had success. thanks, soap buddy.

I have used both chamomille and lavender in my blend along with clary sage and Ylang ylang. I normally use 0.5 oz for a lb. of rebatch. So for 2 lbs, I would have needed 1 oz. of an essential oil blend. 10 drops of lavender and 4 drops of chamomille for a 2 lb. batch is nowhere enough.

i didn't think so either...but was unsure if i should go my own way or follow the recipe. = (

i'm guessing in the end result, the scent won't last anyway right?

so to clarify, since I would like to make another 2 pound batch using lemongrass EO and coconut lemongrass fragrance, how much of each do you recommend me using. Is the general rule of thumb .5 oz of each EO or fragrance for every pound?

And yes next time, I will certainly ask! Thank you. = )

just to let you know soapbuddy, i made the soap today and the scent smells good...it's on my hands and i can't stop smelling my hands.
