I think it's perfectly fine to change names. I changed monkey farts and lots of others. People love it, but frankly, I didn't think it would sell very well. Living where I do (the Middle East) and in a dry country, I also don't leave any names that have alcohol in them the same. Champagne and Strawberries is Berries and Bubbles and it's one of my best sellers. I've changed Bay Rum, and the straight up alcohol names (merlot, chardonnay, etc) as well. Another one I've changed is Butt Naked in Bed. I just don't get why it's called that (I certainly don't smell good after being in bed all day LOL!), and with it's new name it is my top seller. I don't think I could sell any of it to the locals in this pretty conservative country with any reference at all to nakedness....silly in my opinion, but it is what it is and you respect the culture of the place you live, you know, and with that particular one, I don't think I'd even pick it up with that name if I was a consumer - the only reason I tried it is b/c it had such rave reviews.
I don't do many 'types', but I change those too, and usually add some other fragrance to them to change them up just a bit unless I have a specific request for something, like Love Spell, which I call Spell of Love and didn't alter the scent of.
Long-winded answer I know, but I say change away!
