Just a question....has anyone used this in CP? I got a sample of it, and like it alot. Thinking about buying, but it seems really "light". Did you have to use more of it to get it to stick in your soap? Thanks for any suggestions!:)

This is a lovely fragrance. I received a bar of soap in a soap exchange from Spotted Cat, many months ago; and what remains of it still smells great. It does discolor. I immediately ordered the fragrance, but have yet to soap with it, but I'm sure those who have will let you know how much they used. Hope you enjoy it.

I ordered that last year. When it came I thought it was really light but I soaped with anyway. It dissapeared in my CP. Had to rebatch with Patchouli or not sell it. I soap at 110 degrees.

Hmm...maybe I'll use it in lotions and butters instead then:) Ooh...I bet it would make a dreamy bath parfait! lol

Hi all - Yes, I made a batch of cp soap for the soap swap last year. I haven't made another batch yet, but I will this summer to get ready for next winter. I used about .9oz per pound of oils in cp soap. With that said, I have had some fragrance oils really stick in cp, then have ordered the same fragrance from the same supplier again and haven't gotten the same results with the same recipe. It smells great in lotion by the way, Lisa Johnson got me hooked on it!

I made a four pound batch with this fragrance last night and it disappeared!! I used 2 oz. (.50 per pound) and after it sat in the mold for a short while I checked it and there is no fragrance left. Now I wonder if even doubling the amount would have helped. Today I will cut it up but I doubt there will be any on the inside. Personally I do not recomend it for cp.

I can definitely test it out. It's one of the fragrances that we inherited when we purchased the Cybilla Fragrance company a few years back so I didn't do the initial testing on that fragrance but Cybilla sold it for years before we bought it and I don't recall any mixed results with it.

Anyone have anything that they'd like me to test with? Oils, temps etc...? I'll do at least .8 oz per pound for the usage rate ...

Dear Ann-Marie, When I soaped with it that one time I used .5 oz.per lb. of soap like is normaly recomended. The discription didn't recomend useing more so it never occured to me to do that. I hope you have better luck with it.

After Spotted Cat sent spellbound woods in a soap swap, I also made a huge batch of soap. Sad to say, it isn't a sticker like energy or cedar & saffron are, yet it doesn't disappear altogether. I used 1 oz ppo and what I notice is that it gets stronger when I have it in the shower than it smells on the drying rack.

That said, this FO is the bomb and makes the best lotion, bath bombs, salt scrub, etc.

Thanks to spotted cat for turning us on to this!

You're welcome & thanks Lisa for suggesting it in lotion, I would have never done that and now I love it.

I have now had this batch cut and on the drying rack five days and I can detect amber and vanilla in it. Fairly light and I can not detect any of the Sandalwood or Cedarwood. Not sure how to market this one at this point. All sweet notes to me. Any ideas? Maybe just spellbound? Drop the woods.
