Hi. I'm just thinking (maybe too early, maybe not) about fragrances for holidays. I don't know what I"m doing so I'm slow with ideas so I thought if I get some now I can sniff and think and maybe ideas will flow... I poked around on BB site and here are the ones that seemed to stick out for me. I know I can get a smelly sample but I thought I would hear what you all have to say first....

Appplejack Peel
Christmas Forest
Christmas Spice
Cinnamon Sugar
Cranberry Fig
Fresh Snow
Holiday Candy (typical for candy canes?)
Santas Spruce
Pumpkin Spice
Red Apple
Santas Spruce
Sliegh Ride
Sugar Plum Fairy
Winter Grapefruit

I'm also wondering what fragrances one would use or have used for Halloween designs? Or do you have a favorite that I don't have on this list.

Realistically - I don't plan to buy all of those fragrances (yet I suppose) - but I'd like to whittle it down to about 5 outside of Holiday Candy and Applejack Peel.

Thanks

My favorite holiday FO's

#1 must have - sleighride

Close second - berrywine!

Those are the two that sell the best. Otherwise - Frankinsence & Myhrr, and Cranberry Fig. Santa's Spruce, smells great - just got a sample of that, but have not soaped it. Applejack Peel is good.

HTH, Vanessa

I don't sell but I just made some soap with a cranberry citrus (backed with a lemon) and it seems absolutely perfect for that time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is unusual and totally addictive--I have a bar in my car that I keep smelling!

Hi Vanessa, I have Sleigh Ride and haven't soaped with it yet. Going to make a batch this weekend with it. How does it act in CP? Can I use the CPOP method with this FO - it says it has a low flashpoint? Can you give me some suggestions? Thanks!

Also, can someone make suggestions for soaps smells specifically for men for the holidays? I manage 22 guys and 3 women. I know what to use for the girls but I am lost for the guys. I want to make 2 scented soaps and 1 unscented (oatmeal, milk and honey) for the guys so any suggestions would be appreciated! By the way, the guys I manage are wanna be jocks (I work for a professional sports team) and are not very "spicy" smelling as far as I can tell.

Thanks,

Lisa

Spotted Cat,
Sleigh Ride soaps really well with CP, and sells really well for me. The only complaint I have is that it will discolor to a dark tan or light brown.
What I am going to do this year is color it red & green. The red & green swirls I had in it last year looked pretty and stayed, but the white part turned quite dark tan.
So work with the fact that it will turn dark tan.

Thanks Vanessa,

I'll let you know how it turned out. I might have to wait til next weekend tho. I need to order some lab colors from Brambleberry. I can't seem to get a red color to any of my soaps using mica. I can get a burgundy, but not the red.

The one scent that seems to sell well for me around the holidays is peppermint eo, second distillation, from BB. Wonderful creamy smell to it. I tried Fresh snow last year, but no-one but me liked it  Chocolate orange (like the break apart orange?), home for the holidays, any pumpkin pie, vanilla bean noel and snickerdoodle all also seem to work well for me....

I agree that the guys do go for the food scents---- I think there was a survey out one time that talked about how men love pumpkin and cinnamon smells. I'd also like to add Champagne. It's a great holiday scent-- cp soaps like a dream and guys and women love it. It's a staple for year round in my line up.

Hey Linda, what does white grapefruit smell like? I just place my humongous order with Brambleberry, I ordered the juniper sage, but I don't have white grapefruit, is it much different from pink grapefruit? I have that.

I got winter grapefruit once as a free sample. But I will order it again , I like to use it to blend with. I think it smells more like somthing that Id like to smell on men than on women. As far as the juniper sage I put grape fruit in it to cut the whole Irish Spring smell. And Find I like it better that way.

Pink Grapefruit would be fine to brighten up Juniper sage which I think tends to be heavy. I just ment that I was realy impressed with how well winter grapefruit worked with juniper sage. Since I didn't order it , It just kinda fell into my lap. Alot of these great combos came about by just trying to use what I had on hand.
