Teach Soap

Has anyone had experience working with Sea Moss FO using the CP method. I have tried 2 batches now & I can't seem to get the clumping to smooth out. I really, really like this FO & would like to learn to soap with it, but I'm reluctant to buy anymore until I can get some feedback? Thanks.

I have cp'ed this fo and really love it.

It has been a while.....but to my recollection, I soaped cool. Do not use 1 oz/pound of oils. Too much. The scent is so strong. Would go with .6%. I was able to get the clumps out, but pour in slowly and stir while pouring FO in.

Thanks Vanessa. I couldn't get the clumps out. I tried 2 batches. So what I'm going to do is shred some and blend it into a plain batch of soap and cpop. I'm hoping the fragrance will hold up to going back in the oven again

I have this one in my stash. What do you mean by not being able to get the clumps out? Do you mean this one causes seizing?

I absolutely love this scent. I soaped at 111 degrees and it clumped up, I stirred, stirred, stirred, still didn't get them to come out. Smashed on the side of the bowl and that helped, but there were so many clumps, it was a heavy trace by then, so I glopped it into the mold. I'm going to shred it & blend it into a batch of plain soap & hope the scent holds through another gel.

Next time your soap clumps up or seizes, finish it in the oven like a hot process. Then stir, stir, stir and glop into your mold. Or add 1 tsp. of lecithin per lb. of soap, to slow the process a bit.

What is lecithin? Thanks for the tip soapbuddy.

Lecithin is found in soy beans. It is sold as a clear liquid in a health food store. It is used as a nutritional supplement.
