Teach Soap

I have to admit that when I soaped (CP method) this one, I HATED it. It had such a sharp note to it that it almost made me sick to my stomach.

But I just checked on it the other day and it's about 3 weeks cured and ALL of the sharp notes are gone. What's left is MUCH softer smelling and I actually really like it now!

It's funny how time can affect a scent.

For some reason, I don't like very many of the "tea" fragrances - at least not out-of-the-bottle. They all smell kind of sharp to me. Although, I really LOVE BB's "Green Tea".

Yes, it's funny how time/curing can affect some fragrances. Some seem to get better over time.

Thanks for the info zeo. I have found that sniffing them out of the bottle is deceiving also. I got some Star Anise & didn't like it at all when I sniffed it. Made a batch anyway & I just love how it smells now that it has cured for a couple of weeks.

That's good to know on the Star Anise...I've got a bottle and I'm like...OMG...what can I hide this in???

And yes, I *love* the White Tea and Ginger...

I think it's funny how much our individual tastes vary!

I love tea scents, and just can't get enough of them - and the sharp notes are the part I love! My hubby haaaates them and loves vanilla and musky notes, which are BLEAURGH to me. So we each have our own bars in the shower at all times.

Star Anise.... rrrrrrreeeeetttcch. I use it because some customers like it, but if you asked me what to hide it in, my first thought is "somebody else's house". lol.

I like tea scents, just as long as they don't have any lemon or citrus scents. I prefer straight tea.

I did a green tea soap and really didn't like it. I don't do well selling the things I don't like, but a lot of people loved it. One of my favorite lotions is made with the white tea and ginger....love it

I love all of the tea scents that I have tried. Maybe because I love tea, period. I really liked white tea and ginger out of the bottle, and was at first disappointed when it seemed to disappear in CP soap. However, in a few weeks, I too appreciated the subtle, clean smell. I love to watch others sniff it. Some seem totally bored, and others are drawn to it. Maybe learning to make lotion will be my next project, so I can enjoy the scent both ways.

Magic, you crack me up! I guess that's why BrambleBerry & so many others offer a gazillion scents - if you ask me, I prefer the citrus scents & not so much the cherry blossom, bonzai florals.
