Teach Soap

Ok, I know some fo's can be used for the body, some can't. I know there are differences in flashpoints. But! What is the difference in the hfo some retailers sell, and the fo's I use in candles, and bb stuff? I have an oil burner (candle powered) and I bought some hfo from BBW; it killed me to pay that much for that tiny bottle, so I'm curious as to how I can make my own.

I know what you mean!

I'm no expert in fragrance oils, but I would think that you could use soapmaking fragrance oils in a burner with no problem. They're cosmetic quality so they're safe on the skin, and shouldn't be harmful to fragrance a room.

But that's just my guess off the top of my head! I hope others will add their 2 cents as well.

There are online vendors that have descriptions on their web sites. If it says "Skin Safe" or "Bath & Body safe" that means properly diluted, it's safe to use on the skin.

If a fragrances says "candle safe", it's most likely not safe for bath or body use, unless it specifically says so.

Flash points are the most useful for candles.

Retailers that sell body oils sell pre-diluted oils. You can use those in a candle diffuser.
I would dilute the fragrance oils that you have with a little bit of jojoba as technically jojoba is not an oil, but a plant wax.

Our fragrances are fine for those, but you do want to dilute them first.
