Is this ok, I read afterward that they can be skin irritants. I have been using cinnamon essential oil and would like to use clove with it.

Thanks

In small amounts they are ok.
Be aware that they can make your soap seize, or you might end up with a soap on a stick.

I have had such BAD things happen to me (and a customer who luckily is a friend!) when I used Cinnamon EO in soap! ( Different batches and times.) Blisters all over my body and my friend had them all over her hands and feet - I won't ever use it again myself. I do see other people using it and they must not have any problems or they wouldn't keep using it - so just be aware that you may want a caution label of some kind on your soap. Clove can be tricky too, so I am just staying clear. I would only use it in very small amounts till you see how it works.

Yeah - Cinnamon in a tough one. Can be irritating, just make sure (like soapbuddy said) that you use it in small amounts and never put it directly on the skin. There is more info about it here; http://www.brambleberry.com/essential.html
