How's that for an off-the-wall topic?
Here's the situation: I live in Colorado. I have a mastiff that is a show dog.
All the AKC-recognized breeds have what is called a National Specialty show, a dog show with only one breed. This year, the National Specialty for the mastiff is in Denver.
I belong to a mastiff group that is kind of overseeing all the preparations for this event, which will be in May. One of our members thought it would be a nifty idea to have a door prize/raffle kind of thing. And we are going to do a Bar Basket, containing things like Colorado brewed beers, beer steins, towels, etc. So I thought, soap made with beer will be my contribution.
I have in my freezer, all ready for soapmaking, an ale that is actually brewed right here in the town where I live. But I'm not really sure how to scent it.
Here's what I'm thinking so far: a bit of spruce, for that mountain feeling. A bit of lemon, for sunshine, and a bit of spearmint for fresh air. And a teeny bit of cedarwood. I know I have to be careful of the cedarwood, because I don't want it to over power everything else. I don't want to end up with other EOs and
CEDARWOOD!, you know?
What do you all think about that idea? Totally off base? Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
