We say generally a year. After that it is not that they 'go bad' really, but they may start to weaken or smell differently.

hahaha..i love this question. I've seen so many folks freak out if their FO is "too old".

It really depends on the FO and how you store it. If stored properly, it will REALLY extend it's life. I've literally had some FO's in there for over 5 years, and they still smell and perform just as great as when I first bought them. Some fo's though, will definately morph in scent, and some just smell terrible after a couple years. Follow your nose. If it still smells great, use it! If you feel better, you can do a small test batch to check the performance. But throwing out a good fo? omg......isn't that a sacriledge???
