Keep your panties on - I have NO plans to do this. The reason I ask is that a friend send me perfume as a gift, noting "if you don't like it maybe you can use it for soap" (she meant well).

I did respond to her that should she ever get it into her head to make soap - using perfume is probably NOT a good idea and stressed the importance of using fragrances made for cold process soap.

But - that got me to thinking what kind of chemical reaction would occur? Perfume is flammable, is it not, due to the high alcohol content? Would you get a REAL volcano - with flames and everything???

The alcohol in the perfume will cause the soap to seize. So you'd end up with soap on a stick before it would go up in flames, I'd bet.

I've tried it once and it was a disaster. Soap on a stick and when you HP'd the scent fades.

Gotcha...maybe the alcohol heats up faster than the water - hence the "super seizure" reaction.

The Boyfriend and I are sitting around wondering how well my 100% coconut oil soap would work washing our cars! We are still so impressed with its perforance in the kitchen...we might stop buying dish soap.
