When I read through these threads some terminology was lost on me. What is meant when a fragrance or essential oil fades. At first I thought it meant that the bar of soap itself looses its smell. Then I thought about it some more and was wondering if it means that it doesn't linger on your skin throughout the day?

Fading refers to the bar of soap losing its scent/smell over time. Sometimes that means a fragrance has gone away for good, in other cases, you may find that the scent wakes up again after it's used/gotten wet.
