Teach Soap

I have what I hope will be a lovely rose EO on the way and anxiously waiting to make a batch of cold process. Do I need to have another oil to hold the rose scent or will it do fine on its own? The oil was not cheap and I don't want to waste it! I am currently going through withdrawls waiting for UPS! I am still timid about recipes and scents. I would love any advise anyone may have! Thank you, did I say thank you? My husband thinks I am off the deep end!

I'm a bit of a "scent-chicken", too. I usually stick with F/O's that I like out-of-the bottle. I normally don't mix scents very often.

I haven't used Rose EO, but have used several different Rose F/O's (Baby Rose, Rosemilk, and Rosehip & Jasmine). All of these particular scents soaped very well and held their own after 4+ weeks of cure time.

You've got real Rose Essential Oil coming - like the stuff that costs $186 per ounce right now for me to buy in 25 pound size quantities?

If it were me, I wouldn't put it in CP soap. I'd save it for a luscious perfume and not let any of that lye touch it.

If it's an FO, you should be fine. If it's an EO, add just a titch of Patchouli for better staying power.

If it was me though, I would save Rose EO for a lotion or a cream.

Well I just finished clean-up after putting my rose EO soap to bed. I am holding my breath until I can check it later. My kitchen smells wonderfully rosy though! I will update after I unmold! It is a beautiful snowy day and I want to start another batch...!

I can't wait to hear how it turns out. Did you do any Patchouli to anchor?
