I have a customer asking what chemicals are in fragrance oils. I use primarily BB and can't find anywhere on their website that shows fo ingredients. Can anyone help with this information?

That's a proprietary info and the formulas are well guarded. I don't think you'll find that.

The FOs are mixtures of ketones, aldehydes, and so forth. Here is a link that will give you an idea.

I've poked around the BASF website (huge German chemical company). You can download brochures that have info on the various chemical lines created for a specific scent, such as citrus/lemon. Its more interesting to us, I think - really drives home how synthetic FOs are an attempt to "interpret" a natural scent. I think the brochure I looked at was for lemon...there were several grades of chemicals in that category.

But as a selling tool? I question it. Could scare a customer away along the lines of "you don't really want to know how that sausage was made". The stuff I looked at is clearly aimed at chemists anyway.
