Looking for a tried and true type of beach scent for CP. I know coconut is a difficult scent to obtain, do you have any other similar favorites and where do you get them? Has anyone tried Natures Garden Coppertone Hue in CP?

Tropical vacation from BB rocks. One of my favorites. It fades very slightly in CP, so I would suggest using it at the higher end of the safe usage spectrum.

What kind of beach scent? Are you talking sunscreen type smelling scents or tropical fruit type scents? I'm sure you're probably not wanting the scent of our local beaches, mud & duck poop usually here. Blech!

I haven't tried NG's Coppertone. I've tried the Coppertone from Just Scent & to my nose it does smell just like the plain coppertone suntan lotion.
If you're looking for tropical fruit type beach scents, BB's Tropical Vacation is nice.
If you're looking for a salty, ocean beach scent, then maybe BB's Salty Mariner (although it's not much beach, mostly salty ocean)

I'm not sure exactly what type, but I want to have a couple options. Um, except for the mud and poop ones, lol. I was asked by a co-worker to make some wedding favors for her beach themed wedding in June. Usually I would do something decorative with M/P soap but because it's an outdoor wedding in the summer I'm afraid they'll melt or sweat, so I'm going to do it in CP. I haven't made any beach scents with CP, and I want to get a couple samples to let her pick the fragrance, but I want to offer her ones that I'm sure I can use without problems. So I'll take any suggestions that have worked for others, I'll just pick a couple to show.

Thanks for the help!

I liked WSP Sea Glass scent. It does have a bit of floral in there (good for a wedding though!), but it had a nice clean and salty scent that I like. It did accelerate trace, so no super fancy swirls, but if you soap on the cooler side you should be able to do some nice ITP swirling. I did two layers with blue/green ITP swirl and an orange/yellow ITP swirl on top. It was totally doable if you get everything all laid out to move quickly once you add the scent.

I like NG's "Butt Naked". It is a tropical fruit/coconut type of smell. (Reminds me of fruity alcoholic beverages and Cabanas!) Easy to soap with but does discolor to a chocolate brown, so you may have to get creative with layers or colored imbeds with your wedding soap.

So far I think Tropical Vacation is going to be the winner. Does anyone know if it discolors? It says it has 0.4 Vanillin content, which may not be enough to worry about.

I don't recall it discoloring, but it was a couple of years ago that I used it.

I used Tropical Vacation at the higher end of the allowed usage but now that the first batch has been curing for a couple weeks I can't smell it anymore. Sometimes I become desensitized to a fragrance that I've been smelling a lot so I told my husband to take a whiff and he said he smells something but can't identify what type of scent it is. I'm disappointed because I know my co-worker really likes the fragrance. Hoping as it cures it will come back but I'm doubtful. Any suggestions?

I know I'm a bit late, but I just now opened a bottle of Crafters Choice "Beach"....I'm in LOVE!!! DEFINITELY using this in a beachy bomb or bubble bar, maybe even a whipped butter for myself lol....It smells great, I think I'd add just a touch of citrus to even out the sun tan lotion smell, though... :)

Yes, I have Beach as well. I offered several options to the bride and she loved Tropical Vacation. Most of my bars at this point have a very minimal fragrance, some I can't smell at all. Disappointing. I did notice as I was cleaning the soda ash that the smell comes back a bit when the soap gets wet, so maybe it'll still have a nice fragrance in the shower.

I absolutely love the Beach scent though, it sticks very well in CP. I sold a lot at my craft show yesterday.
