We made a batch of CP, goatmilk soap today and tried to scent it with Rose. The fragrance oils were not overly old (rose and rose geranium) but when it was to the mix it took about two seconds for the entire batch to turn hard as a brick. I have never seen this and the mix was 'pre-trace' when we added it.

Any thoughts/experiences with this one??

not with a rose oil, but had that happen with a lavendar before. I scraped it out of the bowl and into the crock pot and hot processed it, came out very well.

Not all fragrances bought from a retail store are meant to be used in cold process soap. Some also have DPG which will make your soap seize. I would get another fragrance from a reputable supplier.
