Please someone tell me if I did this right!

Testing a fragrance blend in 4 ounces of soap.

(I used grams to try and be more accurate)

4 ounces of soap = 112 grams

.1% of FO usage would be .1 x 112? Which would = 11.2.

Does this mean that I would use approximately 11 grams of fragrance for a 112 gram soap bar?

I seem to be confused about this. When you are using FO's and you are not making a pound or better, is this how you would calculate it? Thank you!

0.1% would be 0.001, not 0.1%

0.1% would be really light for 4 oz. What is the recommended useage for the fo you're using?
Most start at 3%/lb, which equals 0.12 oz per 4 oz. Convert 0.12 oz to grams and it's 3.4 grams.

This is why I get confused, I thought it was supposed to be a general rule of most FO's being 0.1% of the total amount of product being used. If I am doing a blend of let's say 4 FO's and each FO percentage is different, how would I figure out that amount?

It really is different for every product you're using it in and every fo. If you're using fo's from BB, I highly recommend their fragrance calculator http://www.brambleberry.com/Pages/Fragr ... lator.aspx

0.1% would be almost no scent at all. Most soapers go with 2% - 5% for mp or cp soap. But it is always best to go with what the supplier suggests, since they've usually tested it.

If you're doing a blend and the fo useage rates are really close, then I'd just average it out.
