Hi all,
Was wondering when adding EO to soap at what percentage should it be added for optimal theraputic benifits? For example I would like to add some tea tree and eucalyptus to my dog soap for flea, fungal and bacteria control. Also I would like to know what is the best natural preservative and at what percentage should perservatives be used in skin and hair products?

Soap is a wash off product. The lye takes its share too. So unless it survives the saponification process, you won't get all that much therapeutic benefit. There is no natural preservative available to the homecrafter that's effective against all germs, mold and bacteria. Animals skin such as dog's has a different PH than humans. I would not use any essential oils on any animals. I would not take that chance.
