Hi - I've been reading the posts on FO & EO. I was wondering if I have to mix my lavender FO with "Patchouli" to keep the scent longer in my soap? Is this true? What is Patchouli anyway? I've never heard of it until recently when I decided to take up soap-making as a hobby.
I have learned so much just reading these posts. Thank you everyone for the great advise that you have all been willing to share. I've ordered a couple of EO (lemongrass & another) do I need to mix it with "Patchouli" to keep the scent longer?

You don't have to mix anything with Patchouli. It is another scent. Wonderful, by the way. A very "hippy" scent. Sometimes if you are using a citrus, you can mix it and that will help with the staying power. Citrus scents tend to fade very quickly. I like to use Patchouli by itself. I also use Lavender eo by itself and I haven't had any problem with it fading.

If you want your Lavender to stay longer in soap, a very small amount of Patchouli essential oil is helpful as an anchor.
