Can you use a star anise EO instead of a sassafras EO? BB sells it here .

I'm with you. I don't trust the FDA as far as I can throw them. We eat 100% all natural, mostly organic diet with no man-made chemicals. The Man-made chemicals are the dangerous ones, not the things in nature that have been used for THOUSANDS of years. Having said that, concentrated EOs can be irritating. I might try brewing a strong sassafras tea and use that when french milling to retain some of the scent.

I wouldn't mind having a nice sassafras CP soap. I guess where there is a will there is a way.

Anyone still remember the horehound candy our parents would feed us when we had colds? Horehound would make a really nice scent for a soap as well. I think the herb has been used for treating eczema as well.
