I made a batch of soap yesterday using MMS Bitter Orange Orchid. For 32 ounces of oil I used 1 ounce of f.o. Everything went very smoothly and the scent was just right. The scent is similar to BB Orange Spice but I don't think is actually as strong as BB's. I just cut it and it is very pretty and smells wonderful.

I know I am late to this discussion, but vacation could not wait! If we go by the total weight of the soap that would mean I am under scenting my soaps. I did a batch today with 32oz of oils.... with water 43oz. Based on oil weight I used 1.4oz but with the water I come up with 1.88oz. Since a percentage of the water evaporates but the scent should remain that means the fragrance would be stronger? Just trying to grab hold of this. I will have to see how this one smells once done... and make a judgment. For the most part I get good response on the scent of my soaps... so wonder if the cost would be worth it?

I use fragrance according to the weight of oils. Not all fragrances are used at the same rate. The safe % should be listed on every vendor's web site that sells fragrances or essential oils.
