Are they the same thing? Quite a few of my searches for rose hip come up with argan. Wasn't sure if they are the same thing or just very similar in uses. I have been able to find argan oil readily for purchase, but the rose hip oil has been a bit more difficult to find leading me again to wonder...

Nope, they're not the same thing

Rosehip Seed Oil comes from the Rosa rubiginosa
Argan Oil comes from the Argania spinosa

You can get Rosehip Seed Oil from places like Mountain Rose Herbs, From Nature With Love, Essential Wholesale

Hmm...I wonder if oil from Rosa rubiginosa (Sweet briar) has any different properties than Rosa canina (Dog rose)?
