Teach Soap

I can't believe I haven't had but a few moments over the last couple of weeks to even THINK soap and when I was thinking soap...it was because I HAD TO! UGH!

Yup...had to...apparently the producers coop (many benefits to being a member for us) wanted to originally veto us out because we weren't "actively trying to farm"...hmmm...REALLY? Because A) it takes a while to build a farm and B) we are in the middle of basically REBUILDING since we decided to move and GROW as a farm...DUH I am not going to have anything to sell if I am trying to retain and build for myself....and THEN a friend of my husbands said "Fake like you're selling soap - that's easier than goats right?" Because really...I can make it LOOK like I am selling this stuff for the co-op people...and tell them I am sold out when they want some...which I DID! MMMhhhhmmm...lady asked abotu one specific bar after our little meeting and I sure did say "Oh, I'm so sorry, I just sold out of that one last night...thanks for the reminder to update my website" with a BIG smile...I think she got the message that I intend to keep every last thing on this place for myself well into next summer, but by them I will have baby critters a plenty to market at least!

But...after much, work, effort and a meeting with them we are IN! So...many benefits to THAT when it comes to my feed bill....thank goodness! It's HUGE help! And I thought I could relax for a minute...but no...

Then I realized that I was behind on the rabbits...and the goats...and there are still baby poultry in my kitchen! AHHHHHH!

Got the goats caught up with what they need, rabbits are good to go for a while, and yup...still have poultry in the house...and they are GROWING FAST! Course now, it's been raining a few days here...and supposed to rain more this week....so unfortunately I think I will be FORCED to sit inside and make soap instead of building a coop...because I need to get to work on a separate area for these ducks...

I miss soap...I almost cut my finger off trimming goat hooves and a rabbit dang near bit a finger off of the other hand...somehow, lye seems so much more friendly right now....

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

You need to come spend a week here! It's a pain some days, but I really do love it! Now if only I could get this house clean again....I have pine shavings in bits and pieces everywhere I look, bits of hay everywhere I turn....oh for a clean house I would trade my right arm about now! (yet still here I sit playing on the soap forum....hmmm...how bad do I want it clean???)
