Hi Guys,

At the moment, I'm in the middle of redesigning my soap (and other) product labels. I want to start focusing on actually selling my soaps now I am confident to expand past friends and family recommendations and actually try and recoup the near five figure investment I've made. (I sat down and looked over the numbers... scary!)

I'm working on new labels that will 'brand' me (now 'us' as my girlfriend is coming on board to take over all the paperwork so I can just make), and I've started looking at the company name. Originally, Coolah Creations was going to be a run little facebook page where I showed off the things my daughter and I created together. Jewellery, some M&P soaps, paintings, etc, etc. I never expected the soap bug to bite so hard nor did I foresee every ending up where I am now. Life's twists and turns can be amazing.

If I want to change the name, now is the time I have to do it. Make it one big changing sweep - new labels/look, new business partner, new name. But, i'm stuck. I can't come up with something that isn't already taken while reflecting me and the soap (and other) creations properly.

I need your HELP!!! Help me find a name...

It needs to reflect me.... so cheeky, silly, crazy, funny, childish, etc.
And it needs to explain what I sell/will sell: Soap, Lip Balm, Lotion, Hair Detangler, etc. So... more than just soap.
And ideally it needs to also make it obvious that I am all about goat's milk... since all my soaps (both CP and M&P) are done with goat's milk, as are my lotions, and more once I get around to them.
I also want it to reflect (if possible) the essential oil blends / aromatherapy / massage side of things which I am studying currently to become qualified in.

That's less important that Goat Milk + Soaps + Me factor though...

Descriptive words I have come up with so far...
- Goat's Milk
- Soap
- Lather
- Bubbles
- Kids (I do kid soaps and baby goat's are kids)
- Soapi (my nickname)
- Mel (My real name)
- Loz / Lauren (my GF name)
- Creations (I create stuff)
- Swirls (nearly all my CP soaps are swirled one way or another)
- Fun
- Goat's Milk
- Goat's
- Milk
- Goat's Milk... (you get the idea... it's all about goat's milk here in this house!)

Some ideas we were throwing around today:
- The Soap Lady. Someone at the market today asked 'Is the Soap Lady there today?"... but there is now two of us, so hrm...
- The Soap Kids. Both Lauren and I are never going to grow up lol, and kids also means baby goats. But... meh, I dunno.
- Goaty Goodness. For obvious reasons, but not sure it really gives away that we do soap. People might think we sell goat's... /shrug
- - Goat Milk Goodness. For same reasons above.
** Then I was thinking 'Goaty Goodness Soaps'... perhaps.
- Giggles and Goats / Giggle and Soap. I like the 'giggle part' as I laugh, a lot. And I was thinking along the lines of 'Giggles and Hoot' which is a kids program here... but, not sure.

I like Coolah Creations... and I honestly can't think of another name I'd like better! :D
Maybe Coolah Creation Goat Milk Goodies? But that would only work if everything had goat milk in it.

Sorry I don't know. I'm not good at that sort of thing. I would keep Coolah though. I think that's cool. :D

Honestly - Coolah is unique (to me at least here in Texas - maybe it's more common over where you are? IDK...I suppose it could be like "Bubba" and "Sissy" here in the southern US? :?: )

Anyways, it's nice, rolls off the tongue, short, sweet, easy to recall, and the word "creations" encompasses the fact that you make more than just soap and leaving out the goat milk part leaves you room to do non-milk stuff as well. (because even as a goat farmer there is just only so much you can do with milk and then you have to draw the line...)

I dunno that I would change it - even family and friends are already familiar with it and have (I would just guess this here) been telling people about you...as Coolah Creations...

I mean, if it ain't broke don't fix it right? (Do they say that where you are?Hmmmm....I dunno...)

Maybe coming up with a new mascot or logo out of the same name, I could see that, even huge companies change logos from time to time...but I would leave the basic name as is...because I like it :D

I agree with nottalottaranch. The word "Coolah" is very versatile and could be used for all sorts of types of soap too...

Coolah Super Suds
Coolah Goatie Soap
Coolah Cucumber
Coolah Clean ("Get Coolah Clean...")

In fact, "Get Coolah" has a nice ring to it... "Don't Just Get Clean...Get Coolah Clean"

The initials "CC" could also be used in a logo that riffs off of Chanel designs...

I think I am with the others and that you need to just stick with Coolah. Just my .02 worth.

Ok, you have me convinced! Sticking with the name. :D

Instead of looking at the name as "Was originally going to be me and my daughter...." I will look at it as, "Inspired by wanting to do something with my kids that blossomed into me finding I DO have at least one creative bone and finding something i love to do!" :D

I'm with the others, I really like Coolah, it really stands out. You could add kid, and do Coolah Kid Creations...but then people might think it's actually child related. ::shurgs::...just an idea, but I really like what you have already.

I really like what you have going already! In our house we talk about you as "Coolah this....." and "Coolah that....". It's how we know you....your identity. But in all seriousness, if you're not satisfied with it, then let's keep helping you brainstorm so you feel bold and confident about your soapy identity.
The only thing that came to mind was Lozamel.....just reminded me of Cozumel and that reminds me of a nice Caribbean vacation :).

Hehe yeah, I was thinking about playing around with out names... but then that little voice in the back of my head said "what if it all goes sour a year, 2 years, 5 years down the track?" :? Of course I hope it never does, but you just never know.

Lauren suggested 'The Soapy Goat' lol...

I've been thinking about it all morning. I can't explain what's not sitting right staying Coolah Creations. I think because there's just no obvious "soap / goat milk soap" factor about it. Then I bounce back that I like it because my soaps are 'Cool Aaah" that yours. And I can include the soap factor such as "Coolah Creations. Goat's Milk Soaps and more!"

The Soapy Goat is cute!
I was thinking on a play of the word "ewe" like "Soap for Ewe" or "Good for Ewe Soaps" but then that's a sheep and not a goat!
Coolah is just so unique and we all know it's you! Maybe you need a tag line? Because you wanted a name that described your products and more than just soap - so it'd be hard to come up with a name that encompassed all your products -- but "Creations" works for you there.
So keep CC and then add underneath "Goatmilk Spa/Soaps & More" or something?
