Teach Soap

I was at a show and a lady came up and asked me my formula. I wouldn't tell her the amounts but she came back with she wanted to know if it was castile or not?
According to her Castile is when you have 80% of olive oil.
I had never heard about this anyone have any insight to this statement.

I would consider anything less than 100% Olive Oil, Bastile (bastardized castile).

So to me, Castile is 100% olive oil

Well according to the Merriam Webster dictionary it is soap made with all olive oil. Wikipedia states that it started as a soap made with olive and laurel oils, but early soapmakers did not have easy access to laurel oil so they went with just the olive oil and that is what we know it as today. So if your recipe has at least 80% of olive oil then I would have said to her.. "well yes, by your defination my soap is a castile" and smiled nicely. Did she buy one from you?

Thanks much for the answers. There is so much to learn with soap making. I am loving every bit of it.
No, she didn't buy any from me. I got the feeling she makes soap and was trying to get different ideas or find out the formulas. I don't mind sharing what is in my soap but not the formula.
