Happy Labor Day Weekend to all! What is everyone planning to do for the holiday? We are doing a bbq. Not original but everyone enjoys themselves. Have fun all!

It is still quite warm here but nice. Some family has come to celebrate so we are happy even though we miss our daughter.

I'll be making pear honey & pear butter this weekend. My sister's pear tree had a bumper crop this year! Oh, and I'm going to be making some pickled green tomatoes too! So good!

Not a holiday down under... but it IS the first weekend of spring. YAY!! Winter can kindly *bleeping bleep* off!

I'm still sick, so resting this weekend. Have a date tonight though... with a fireman!!

Typical fare for us. Hamburgers, Turkey burgers, chips, ice cream. funny thing is I got the hot dog buns but no hot dogs...talk about a very blond moment.

I'm gonna be manning the Grill. Labor Day is an important anniversary for me. It's very personal and i don't want to say what for. But it is a milestone each year.

I am working 12 hours Sat and Sun but then have Monday off. Think I will make soap. The beer soap is next up on my list of things to try. Will also start putting together a new order to BB. That sounds like a day to look forward to..for me anyways.

Thanks Linda. No matter what the weather, I can make soap. If it is crummy I will just mix that lye and beer in the garage. Maybe I can convince the DH to have a spare one with me while I wait for it to cool. I am going to boil the beer Sun night and then chill it. That will probably break his heart!
Hope your still enjoying the farmers market! It must be starting to wind down. We have just a little over a month left at the one they have here.

we are having the requisit bbq on monday with the WHOLE family here...so cleaning and farm chores will probably take up most of the weekend. At some point my Mom and I have to can all the pork ( wild hog given to us by a friend that hunts them) in our freezers (both are full), been on the calender to do all week and it still isnt done yet. On top of that the County fair is in October so I have get all my entries ready and logged so I can get them registered to show. Sigh...I just thought I was unemployed. LOL

I'm still trying to figure out what to do. I recently picked up full time hours at my new job, but I have Sunday and Monday off. I'm probably going to package up some sample soaps and mail them out to my soap testers. I'm just so excited that it is finally September, as I love the Fall...especially in New England!!
