I almost always order from ED. I can get lye locally from my oil supplier and it's $2/lb, but even with shipping, it's usually less than that from ED.

I prefer the flakes, but paying $5.87 a pound VS $3.31 a pound is a big difference. IMO

I just ordered this morning, so it probably won't ship until tomorrow.. I should have it by the end of next week!

I always get the food grade from ED. I buy the 10 pound lot (5 2lb bottles). They are the best size, easy to handle and non-messy!! :D

The flakes do seem easier to mix to me too, and no static, but I still buy mine from Ace Hardware because I live so close, and the convenience is worth it. Plus buying locally is always a good thing to consider where you can. :) Five dollars difference isn't that big of a deal in the long run, to me.

I used to get my lye from the local mom/pop hardware store, but the last time I ran out, they had doubled the price, from $3 to $6. :evil: :cry: So my last order was from ED, got a pretty good deal on it.
