Teach Soap

Alright, I want to make a beer soap and a rum soap. I know that boiling will removed most of the alcohol, my question is this: how long do I need to boil it to make it soap safe? I've read many sites online and they all say something different! Most of the sites are food based so they only remove part of the alcohol, but I know alcohol seizes soap. Any help from those of you who have experience with alcohol based soaps would be greatly appreciated!

For my beer soap, I simmer it for at least 10 minutes. Let cool off, then stick it in the fridge. I leave it in there for at least a couple of days to make sure that the beer is very flat.

I plan to freeze it, that should take care of any carbonation.

I bought a big can of foster's just for soaping, told my father in law "No touchie Mister!" Same with the pint of rum! So far he hasn't touched either!

Totally love my ale, oat and honey soap. i boil about ten min, too, then freeze cubes. Works a treat!

Has anyone used oouzo in their soap?

I haven't decided what scent to use with the beer batch yet. The rum is going in a bay rum batch though!

Well, I purloined a bottle of beer from my DH, boiled it and set it aside to cool. About 30 minutes later I went to get my scale from the other room so I could premeasure it and put it in the freezer. I was gone for about a minute. I come back into the kitchen and my DH is there. I reach to get the pot with my beer and it's not there. "What did you do with my beer?" "What beer?" "The beer I had in the pot on the stove." "Was that beer? I thought it was the water left from the hot dogs I made at lunch time and dumped it out. I was straightening up." "Since when did you decide to clean up????"

I now have another pot of boiled beer cooling...which he knows is beer for my soap.
