Has anyone made homemade laudry soap before? I've been like a mad-woman watching videos on youtube and came across one with washing soda, some hard-to-pronouce soap bar, and borax. If I could make that much it would great, we are always doing laudry with 4 adults, a dog, and a ferret. My mother thinks I'm just being cheap and nothing works as good as her 'stuff' that she buys, my brother could care less, and my sister would use it if she had nothing else. Any opinions, results, suggestions?

I make laundry soap all the time using 100% lard with 0% superfat.

Try 1/4 cup of vinegar per load. There are different type of vinegar out there. Try some rice vinegar and see if you like it better.

You can also add a couple of drops of fragrance to the vinegar if you think you want some scent.

I don't add vinegar to the rinse, but I do use the silicone dryer balls and they work really well.

As a massage therapist, I find sheets stained with oils hard to get rid of. Try the hottest water possible, rub any stains directly with some polysorbate and use detergent instead of handmade soap. This is one instance where I don't use handmade soap.
