Post subject: New Product Testing

Can you guys tell me how you go about new product testing? I've tested stuff to death then approved it then shipped it out only to find the containers leaked in the mail where I could not get them to leak at home. And really as much as I'd like to think I could be, I'm hardly a disinterested observer for my own products.

Keep in mind I have no friends who do soaping other than fellow soapers I've met through the years all of which may be biased.

I look forward to suggestions.

Those didn't work for me when I shipped from Hawaii. It may have been the air pressure in the planes that the mail rode in.
If you say they work for you, I'll give it a try if I make any scrubs again.

sgsoaps idea of shipping them to yourself is great. We did that with some products to see what would happen. Was great to see not only if items leaked, but where they were in the delivered package compared to where they originally were when they were shipped.

Hey Soapbuddy! I am very excited because I got some of those paper seals today! However they didn't come with instructions. Can you tell me how to use them? I tried to put it on one of the jars of bath salts I made. I pressed it in the jar lid and then closed the lid on the jar...but it won't stay. How do I get it to stay and how do I ensure it will work? Any and all tips for this will be much appreciated.

Make sure before you use these seals that there is absolutely no moisture, oil or anything on the rim of your jar. It has to be absolutely clean. Otherwise the lids won't stick.
