Teach Soap

I made these today and need to tweak the recipe...I think I used too much cocoa butter. What's a recommended amount of cocoa butter to use? The recipes I'm finding-the ranges I see are in teaspoons, tbsp, cups...not many in ounces.

For the baking soda and citric acid, I'm using 2 parts (baking soda) to 1 part (citric acid). I also used colloidal oatmeal...probably used too much of that too!

Finally, are they supposed to leave a ring around the tub?

I would experiment with the recipe that you like, then convert it to ozs. Cups and teaspoons are not very accurate. There is not certain amount of cocoa butter that you should (or have to) use. It's whatever works in your formula. Mine don't leave a ring around the tub.

ok, good to know about the cocoa butter...will just keep playing around with the recipe. I was wondering about the citric acid...adding more of it will increase the fizzing, right? The ones I made had a slow fizz.

One more thing..I came across some information on Polysorbate. I think I might order this from BB but there's a 20 and 80..not sure which one to use in the bath melt fizzies?

Try more citric and see. I would go with poly 20.
