So, I've just spend the past hour completely re-arranging my kitchen to make room for my soap supplies. My 'clutter cupboard' got cleaned out so my plates and bowls could go there, so that my soaping supplies could go where my plates and bowls here. Amusingly, the largest cupboard space in the kitchen besides the pots area lol.

I'm addicted!

At what point did you realise that you were addicted?

(For me it could also have been that my self purchases Xmas pressies were soap supplies, or that I used the money I should be putting on my layby (mine, not the kids) and buying soap supplies with it instead  )

For me it was as soon as I made my frst batch of CP. My guest bedroom is now filled with shelving units to dry & store my soap and my "sewing" room is being overrun with FOs, EOs, soaping oils and all my molds! :D

LOL

The funny thing is, I NEVER saw myself as a soap maker. Just over 12 months ago my partner of 12 years left me. He decided he didn't want to be a family anymore. After the first hard yard, I started looking for ways to reconnect with my 4yo daughter. She really had been pushed aside as my partner left when my son was only 6 weeks old.

I started two things - jewelry making, and soaping. I actually wanted to do cooking with her, but the ex got wind of it and jumped in first. So stumped, I googled until I found soap making and (at the time not knowing all the hot liquids and lye etc) thought that would be a great thing to do with her. After all, she could use her creations in the bath! After discovering the dangers, I started jewelry making with her.

Soaping however, grabbed me with both hands! I am 150% addicted to it! It feels so natural, and I am good at it! If I do say so myself lol. For someone who has felt craftily dyslexic for her entire life, this is a major break though! I am finally creating something! 8)

Coolah, the really bad news is it only gets worse with the passage of time.

Welcome to the addiction!

(Just as a side note, I have yet to encounter a soapmaker who wants to break free of this addiction! )

 Now imagine everything you just said happening at ONCE in my head!!

That's why I just had to put my kids Xmas layby pick-ups on the credit card.

One of my first steps though was "OMG cupcake soaps... Heart shape molds... long thin tube mold INSIDE a log of soap!!" I bought up SO many molds to start with as my mind went nuts thinking of all the different things I was going to do with them.

I'm also waiting on about 15 fragrances to come from the US rofl!!

I just need to figure out a way to get more money! I WANT EVERYTHING!!!

My family thinks that I am nuts because all I can talk about is soap. My 13 year old son is all hyped up on helping me every time I make a batch. My husband made me 2 wooden molds and a 6 foot drying rack. He is going to make me soap dishes that I can sell with my soap when I get more experienced to sell. He has testers lined up to critique my soaps when they are ready. My basement smells wonderful. :D

He is the greatest. He loves woodworking so to get him to make something out of wood is a thrill to him.
